She Bloomed Where She Was Loved

At the heart of this painting is an ancient Greek oinochoe — a vessel traditionally used for pouring wine and serving others. A vessel made not simply to hold, but to give. From it grows the bleeding heart, delicate flowers unfolding as though love itself has taken root and begun to bloom.

For me, the oinochoe became a metaphor for what we carry within ourselves — and what we choose to pour into the hearts we meet. Every heart we encounter is a place where something can grow.

We can leave flowers.
We can leave weeds.
The choice is ours.

This is an original one-of-a-kind artwork painted entirely by hand with acrylics on natural unprimed cotton canvas. Visible brushstrokes, subtle colour variations, and the organic texture of the fabric are all part of its handmade character. The canvas is intentionally left unframed and suspended from a light wooden hanging rod, with raw edges visible to preserve the soft, tactile quality of the textile art.
